Sudhir Ruparelia is a businessman and entrepreneur in Uganda who was born in 1955.[1] He is the Chairman and majority shareholder in the companies of the Ruparelia Group.[2] His investments are mainly in the areas of banking, insurance, education, broadcasting, real estate, floriculture, hotels and resorts.

Sudhir Ruparelia was born in Jinja Uganda, through his early life is not so much known but studied in schools like Jinja secondary school[3] Jinja but moved to the United Kingdom with his parents in his early teens during the Idi Amin explusion of Asians. He returned to Uganda in 1985, with US$25,000 to start his Ugandan businesses, which later grew into the Ruparelia Group.[4]
Sudhir Ruparelia is married to Jyotsna Ruparelia and they have three children. Sudhir bought his youngest son, Rajiv, a nightclub for his eighteenth birthday.[5] He also bought his son a Range Rover Sport
In 2005 a court issued an arrest warrant for Ruparelia on charges of causing a nuisance in the suburb of Bukoto. The warrant was requested after Ruparelia and his lawyers failed to appear at City Hall Court. He was charged with three counts of causing a nuisance, with the prosecution alleging that at the Kabira Club in Bukoto, which Ruparelia owns, he caused a nuisance in Nakawa Division and the district contrary to the Public Health Act. It was also alleged that he discharged sewage into a storm water channel contrary to the Public Health Act.[6]
